Walk, Run or Jog the Trail on Saturday, April 28th

On Saturday 28th April on Walmer Green we are holding a "Walk, Run or Jog" the Royal Marines Heritage Trails Family day.

There will be an opportunity for different age groups and abilities to take part in this 5K race starting at Midday. Registration opens at 10am at the Walmer Sea Scout Hut on Deal seafront, near the Castle.

Simon Read is helping organise the race event who is widely experienced in the organisation and management of such running events.

The fastest male, female and military veteran will win an original Bronze Marker Plaque as used on the trail. Participants can register for the event by returning the form below, or on the day. Please note there is an entry fee of £5 per adult. Finishers will receive a commemorative medal.

Stuart Leach will be supporting by simultaneously running one of his fifty Marathons as part of his EXPED 5050 project www.exped5050.com.

The day will commence at 10am with refreshment stands including Solley’s Ice Cream, The Town Kitchen, Lillyroo’s, Wynne’s Fudge and Cin Cin Mobile Bar. Heritage Military Vehicles will also be on display and stands from The Royal Marines Charity, SAFFA and The Duke of York’s Royal Military School.

Come and cheer Stuart Leach in from his marathon around 11am and the cheer on the Walkers, Runners and Joggers at Midday!

Approx 1pm winners will receive their medals followed at 2pm by a parade from the Duke of York’s Military School Band.

Throughout the day there will be an opportunity to go on a Guided Taster Walk of The Trail this is on a first come first served basis and can be booked at the Royal Marines Heritage Trails Marquee.
